À propos du tableau vivant
Le genre du tableau vivant, loin d’être une nature morte, m’interpelle pour ses possibilités expressives interdisciplinaires. Depuis les débuts de ma formation en scénographie, en 1984, j’ai tenté de transposer des tableaux dans l'espace… sortir l’image hors du cadre, incarner les couleurs, formes, taches, personnages, émotions et atmosphère me captive. Le corps humain est pour moi un sujet, une forme, une masse de sens et de sensations et un outil au même titre qu'un crayon ou qu'un pinceau.
Au fil de mes explorations à titre d'artiste interdisciplinaire et fortement influencée par la théâtre et la danse, j’ai eu l’idée de concevoir des tableaux vivants performatifs, conçus comme des spectacles à dessiner, se rapprochant du happening et s'éloignant de la séance de dessin de modèles vivants telles qu'elles se déroulent dans les ateliers et les salles de cours.
Pour réaliser ces tableaux vivants, je fais appel à des modèles vivants professionnels et aussi à des non-modèles et figurants car je cherche la diversité des corps, des types de présences et de manières de bouger.
